Three stages of growth. The bottom level just started. A tangerine sits on top of the black cover of newly sewn grass seed.
The middle level with the greenhouse cover is 4 days old, the top tray is 7 days old.
The Greenhouse keeps things moist. But careful not to trap too much moisture because that can promote mold.
When the grass gets this big, the greenhouse won't even fit. The grass does not need the greenhouse at this stage.
Visible mold growing from seed that came with too many (microscopic) fungi. Mold can also start from mis-management of moisture by the gardener (that's you!). Want mold-free grass? Follow the tips in the section on "Mold-Free Wheatgrass" in Wheatgrass Nature's Finest Medicine.
This photos shows zero mold. Grown with same sprouter as above, in same location, on same days, by the same gardener. The only difference was the seed.
The beautiful mat of roots created by wheatgrass. Notice that the roots are completely free of any signs of mold. Because of good seed? Definitely. Because of a careful gardener? Absolutely!
