More Tips on Making Your Sprinkler Head Spin
|Your motor should look like this when running without any blue parts. If not, follow my motor clearing procedure.||If you have good water pressure, the blue tube in the water barrel will produce a flow like this.|
|Check your spinner. Water should spray from all orifices. If not....they're clogged!||You can control which holes squirt. Keep the outermost holes open and clear to maximize spinning speed.|
|Small holes can easily get clogged with gunk! Examine your spinner regularly and unclog any holes that are not clear.||Sometimes, just adding a little lubrication to the inside of the post smoothes out the gunk that builds up. Also try reaming these blue parts out using a cottony pipe cleaner.|
|Yes, you can blow on it like a whistle! That also helps clear out some of the holes. All of this is helpful.||This is the gunk that comes off the seed jackets. That in combo with the minerals in your water can build up over time. A little maintenance once or twice per year should do it. Or you could buy a new one for $5.|
|If you are capable of a little handiwork, you can clean the inside of the spinner by removing the 8 tabs that hold it together.||Seven Tabs removed. One tab remaining.|
|Hmmm….let’s see what we’ve got in here! This person got seeds into their water barrel. From there the seeds migrated up the tubes. Just take good care and don’t get sloppy and this shouldn’t happen to you.||Oh…I forgot to mention. We do have a 2 Arm Spinner head available. It spins faster because it is lighter. And it’s only $5. But be careful. If all your connections are good and clean, this spinner will spin so fast, it will fly off.|
|You could also soak all your blue parts in an organic detergent solution. If you find one that works well, let us know and we’ll spread the word to others.|
|This is how your spinner should spin when everything is cleaned and properly connected.|
